Celebrities Without Makeup

Remember the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty?

This takes "beauty" to a whole new level. While browsing around the web, we found an old post showing Celebrities Without Makeup. While we don't want to link to the site from here (as there is a bit of questionable content included that many of us would rather not see - ahem), we still felt it prudent to talk about celebrities and the idea of what beauty truly is.

Thankfully, we found a more appropriate blog showing Celebrities Without Makeup. We particularly like the one of Heidi Klum. We also love this blog because, while it's honest, it's not horribly cruel. Why do we like that? Because it's important for everyone to see that these women are not ugly without makeup. They just look like normal people! They look like you and I.

Why is this an important thing to realize? Beauty magazines, while excellent resources for fashion and make-up trends, advice, and products, are often the source of low self-esteem. We see women in magazines, commercials, television shows, or just on the runway, and they seem supremely beautiful. How do they do it? With lots of make-up, hair stylists, and an over-boiling fashion budget (with occasional freebies from their good friends Michael Kors and Kenneth Cole to lovingly sport on the runway). The truth of the matter is, without all of these things, they look like you and I - normal women just going about their day buying groceries, dropping the kids off at school, taking the dog for a walk, and other every day normal activities.

While it's nice to know that underneath all that make up, celebrities really are just like us, it's also nice to know that with the right products and make up techniques, we can easily look like them as well. Even a few minimal additions like mascara, lip gloss and simple hairstyle can change our appearance and our confidence level. The problem that presents itself is that it's difficult finding the best products at the prices we can afford. After all, while celebrities themselves may look like us, their bank accounts look nothing like ours do!

However, if you search the web on sites like ebay, ecrater, and the like, you'll find a lot of great deals on designer merchandise, cosmetics, and even lingerie. At Mystique Boutique (see upper right corner for more info), we carry a great deal of MAC Cosmetics and Designer Handbags at low prices every day, giving you the opportunity to have that celebrity look without the celebrity budget.

Whether you want to look like a celebrity or not, we hope you at least walk away from this article with a renewed sense of self-esteem. These women, while beautiful in their own unique ways, are not superior in their appearances. They just have great make-up artists. ;-)
